Inexpensive Holiday Decor

I've always wanted decorate my house for each of the holidays. Since I live in an apartment I had to get creative since their isn't much room for decorations. Also I wanted something that wasn't budget busting.

I came up with these framed holiday decorations. I just bought 4 frames from Wal Mart for about $3 each. Then came up with a single 4 letter word for each holiday and embellished them with scrapbook paper and Cricut cut outs.

Here are a few that I've made:

Oreo Truffles

These little guys are absolutely addicting and SO easy.

3/4 block of cream cheese
1 package of Oreo cookies
Chocolate and/or white chocolate almond bark

Smash or crush the Oreos. (I use a food processor and it goes a lot faster!)
Heat up the cream cheese in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
Add the cream cheese to the Oreos and mix.
Roll the mixture into balls and then dip in the almond bark.
Set in the fridge for about 30 minutes and then
ENJOY! :) yum

Guacamole Salad

I know it doesn't sound delicious but you have got to try it!  I hate avocados and guacamole but love this salad!

DRESSING INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup mashed avocado (usually takes one avocado for that 1/2 cup)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup oil
1 clove garlic ( 1/2 tsp of minced garlic)
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp chili powder
salt (to taste)
Tabasco sauce (to taste)
I usually double this recipe so that I have left over dressing!

SALAD INGREDIENTS:

1 head of chopped lettuce
1 can of chopped olives
1 can of drained tuna
cheese (to taste)
tomatoes
Frito lays corn chips

* I never mix in the dressing so that the left overs don't get soggy and you can decide how much dressing you want on your plate!
ENJOY

We put these on the menu at least once a month! If you need something super quick for dinner, this is your answer!
Pineapple Chicken Fajitas
Ingredients:
- 1 large can pineapple, drained.
- 3 chicken breasts, cooked and chopped.
- Jamacian Jerk Seasoning (note to self: walmart doesn't have it)
- Cloves
- 1 tbsp oil

In a medium skillet, add oil and heat to medium temperature. Add pineapple and heat for 5 minutes. While waiting for pineapple, cook and chop up the chicken into small pieces.
